Yonago Access

Yonago Kitaro Airport

The air gateway to the San'in region, and the hub for onward travel by rental car, bus, or the JR Sakaiminato Line (Kitaro Train).

About this place

Yonago Kitaro Airport straddles the boundary between Sakaiminato City and Yonago City in the San'in region of Tottori Prefecture, serving as the air gateway to the area. In 2010, the airport was given the nickname "Yonago Kitaro Airport" in honor of its proximity to Sakaiminato City, hometown of manga artist Shigeru Mizuki. Scheduled services link the airport to major cities including Tokyo (Haneda), Osaka (Itami), Nagoya (Chubu), and Fukuoka, providing vital air access to the San'in region.

Rental car counters are consolidated within the terminal building, allowing passengers to set off immediately after arrival toward Mt. Daisen, Kaike Onsen, or the Izumo area. JR Yonago Airport Station is adjacent to the terminal, and it is also possible to board the Kitaro Train and head to Sakaiminato or central Yonago. Shuttle buses connect to Yonago Station in approximately 25 minutes.

The terminal offers a range of San'in souvenirs and dining options, making it easy to savor local flavors before departure. With rental car, rail, and bus all available, it is a convenient starting point with multiple onward travel options.
