What we share
- Places worth going — famous sights, small shops, and nameless roadside corners alike
- History & legends — the ogre legends, the master swords, the stories of this land that few people know
- Everyday information — local deals, events, and what’s in season
- Scenery — a single photo from a walk, on a certain day in a certain place
The area covered is Hōki Town and outward to Yonago, Mt. Daisen, Sakaiminato, Matsue and Izumo — everywhere you can reach after landing at Yonago Airport.
About “the feeling of being there”
There are already plenty of sites that praise famous spots with beautiful photos. This site doesn’t do that. Instead, it’s written with the warmth of a person who was actually there. A cloudy day stays a cloudy day. If something was underwhelming, we say so. We value the one line only a resident could write — like “I love the evening light here.”
The “last checked” date
Local information is perishable. Opening hours, prices and events all change. So each article carries a “last checked” date to show when the information was confirmed. Before you head out, please check the latest details from the official link on each spot. If you spot a mistake, we’d be glad if you quietly let us know.
Houki Sanpo (scenery log)
These are dated records made of just one photo and a few lines — scenery not quite worth a full article, but worth keeping. They pile up as small pins on the map. We’d love it if you watched the same places change with the seasons alongside us.
About listings
- Everything is written in our own words. Factual information comes with official links.
- Photos are only ones we took ourselves. If we haven’t been somewhere, we say so honestly.
- If there is a problem with how a place or shop is featured, please let us know and we’ll respond right away.
Full English articles are being added gradually. For the complete content, the Japanese site has everything, and the map works in any language.
