Mizuki Shigeru Memorial Museum

A renewed yokai world that reopened in 2024, best visited together with Mizuki Shigeru Road.

About this place

The Mizuki Shigeru Memorial Museum is dedicated to the manga artist Mizuki Shigeru, who was born in Sakaiminato, Tottori Prefecture. The original building closed in March 2023, and after extensive reconstruction the museum reopened on April 20, 2024.

From 'Young Shigeru in Sakaiminato' to 'Mizuki Shigeru and the War,' the museum traces the artist's eventful life through extensive archival materials and video displays. The special exhibition gallery rotates rare original illustrations—pieces that could not be shown in the old building—approximately every six months, giving repeat visitors something new to discover each time.

Situated right alongside Mizuki Shigeru Road, a visit here combined with a walk down the road is the classic itinerary. The museum is open year-round and offers enjoyment for everyone from families to fans of the original artwork.
